   Hello everyone!

   Welcome to the new GC. It should be exactly the same! It should look and function the same as it did. "So what's the big deal?" The entire back end of the website was revamped into a new framework that should allow new functionality to be added VERY quickly. This is a very good thing. There are many new features of the website that I'd like to get in place but revamping the entire website was daunting and the community could be blown to bits.... so... I'm going incremental.

   This is the first big step in what GC could become. Congratulations! You survived the transition. That was the hard part.

   If there are any parts of the website that aren't working then please send an email to global@globalconscious.com.

   Hopefully I got everything up and working. My fingers are crossed.

   A few changes...
   When sending a message to someone it will automatically complete with all the users in the system.
   The number of users online does NOT reflect the people whom are conecting via the screen saver. They are only users whom are on the website itself within the last 20 minutes.
   The message board is now completely revamped. I couldn't move the posts over because the old message board was designed around double login. (one account for the website and one for the message board.) It's single sign in on the website and it's all integrated. The look and feel of the message board isn't GC style but that'll be one fast fix in the coming weeks.

   zephy is right. I want to see who's online like we could before, or else HOW can I personally offer them halibuts? Hmm? tell me how? I cant GUESS who is online unless I wait for them to post but some people are shy. :)

    Who is online is now reflected in the stats box.

    I had NO idea that the users online was important until right this moment when it was brought up here. Are there any other important features you're missing or that should looked at immediately?

    Are you still having trouble with editing your profile now? The PM problem is interesting b/c the technology is there and should work correctly. It's all set up right. it's the system not working right!

    First of all thanks for keeping this site open and tolerating all of us.
    I hope you are feeling better and adjusting to a new diet and life style if needed.
    I can't open my private messages and I have liked having that feature very much.
    The message I would like to read today is from you the subject line says the new GC,
    but I can't open it to see the content.

    Sorry Brad, neither are working. But if it's going to be too much of a headache to fix, remember, you and your health come first. We'll all still be around even if it takes ages to fix. - Don't want you having any relapses! xxxxx

    Thank you. It is no problem to fix. figuring out the root of why it's not working is relaxing to me in a way.

    I've got it going now in FF. Let me know if there are still problems in IE

    i am limited to IE at the moment.
    not able to open a message....thought it was me till read thru others with same problem.

    Are you using IE6? I've testing the tabs in IE7 and there is no problem.

    hi brad,

    I am using FF and I cant reply to messages; when I click in the box I cant type anything, other than that I really like how you can see sent messages, where before you couldnt!

    I like the improvements you've made like the linkable signatures to the profile on each post, and the users online list on the main GC page. :)

    Halibut, what version of FF are you using? is it on a Mac or PC? I've tested messaging with the latest version 2.0 and it is working on my mac.

    Hi Brad

    this is what it says in the "about" for my ff: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7

    What happens is when I click in the field to reply to a message I get a grayed out cursor, and it wont accept any keystrokes. In IE 6 I get different things; I can click on the message (but its weird because it looks like theres no link but if I click on the message name it takes me to it so I can reply) and then I AM able to type in a response...

    I hope this helps. I am NOT complaining, I am just trying to help. :)

    hmm. I removed the Ads which were causing some problems before. Do the PMs and Avatars work now? What is the error you're getting. You should email me directly with any errors: global@globalconscious.com

    Hey Brad, Love, love, love the new stuffs on gc! Only problems for me are:

    1. cant reply to messages in firefox (not able to click and type in box)
    2. cant login using my mobile phone :) I dont know if that is something you purposely set up before, where text based browsers could access gc and login and post, and I dont know how important it is, but I really liked being able to post when away from a computer, and more and more people use mobiles to web access, and the newer ones (not mine) can get most of the web as it is!

    Just wondering if there's some setting that allows logon from mobile or if it was just some crazy fluke that I could get on that way on the old gc.

    AND to reiterate what karen said, we LOVE you and appreciate what you are doing, and recognize all your work,but YOU are more important than the work and i hope you are taking care of yourSELF.

    Just wanted to say, I checked the pm's on firefox (I have been trying to just use IE because I couldnt seem to reply to pm's on firefox...but I just checked and NOW I have this wonderful WORKING "reply" button that takes me to a page that I can click in now and actually REPLY! THANK YOU SO MUCH BRAD!

    Hi Brad I seem to get a strange error when I click to see my messages; it is the same in firefox and in IE:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_SL in /Library/WebServer/globalconscious.com/protected/pages/Members/Messages.php on line 52

    So, I cant see my PM's...
