    The West Wind

wandering lonely over grounds and mists
    heart is throbbing, gently sobbing
    like a weakly clenching fist
soul is spreading through the land
across the seas to distant sands
it knows the fate it shall receive
    a lonely heart, without reprieve
    like a weakly clenching fist
    heart is throbbing, gently sobbing
wandering lonely over grounds and mists...

    Bus Ride #1

    Crowded chatter
    Loud and intimate.
    I listen,
    isolated in my body shell.
Life is taking itself very seriously today I notice.
    Reality imposes on me
    Like an imposter!

I steal a moment and breath
    into my being.
    I am One again.
    We are the same.
    Now I see,
    now I understand.
    Now I laugh inwardly.
    Zen is a game!
    Nothing is important.

    The West Wind

walk to the land of the misty lights
    and scribble down your screed
where dusty men and cowboy zen
    will gamble with your greed
they rise in night to swallow whole
the rocks and sand and trees
    while drifting through the midnight
    glow with burning oaken leaves...

    The West Wind

it twists and turns with endless squirm
    and melts inside my brain
it wriggles like a little worm
    and dribbles down the drain
my thoughts are melding in the sun
    and liquify like crayons
their psychedelic colors drip and run
    and fill most distant lands...

    The West Wind

the time has come, the rope's undone
we wait to walk the miles
the ptarmigan will shield the sun
    as dust begins its trials
it swirls down, into the sea
    as burning leaves perspire
the midnight dawn inflames the tree
    where spirits seek for hire...

    The West Wind

    words appeal unto the night
    the thoughts of lovers torn
they whisper of a heartfelt fright
    and scatter to the lorn
drifting on the tides in tune
    with gently swaying trees
to bear their feelings to the moon
    of love upon the breeze...

    The West Wind

    careful, careful,
tread the dawn of night with care
    leaving light to dusk
avert the worlds that come to stare
and meet them with their brusque
the dark is dripping o'er the rails
    and blotting skies of gold
    dusky winds inflate the sails
    releasing earthly hold...

    The West Wind

the rising stones of ancient sun
    break free of earthly bonds
    the seeping glow of One
    alights upon the fronds
    of silky summer day
    extending tendrils of the dawn
    as drops of dark decay
and yield the gentle earthly yawn...

    The West Wind

    stretching through the earthly cosmos
    touching limbs and lines
unperturbed by ways the wind blows
    crawling forth like vines
    sending signals aft the sails
transisting thoughts and words and feelings
to stately masts of metal rails
    and blithely utter earthly dealings...

    The West Wind

    sail on time soul
I can't see you no more
    as ageless light waves roll
    echoing the vibrations they store
    drifting through fog
    on the earth sail
    slowing life like a bog
    transmitting their tale
    they echo vibrations of life
to float in the sky burn
    crying through strife
    the mistiful winds shall return...

    The West Wind

    burning sky, burning the story
black hair streaming in the fire of night
a billion diamonds peer from the quarry
staring at the soul of the firelight
she said the dream was a feeling
of a reach for the world
    sending starlight reeling
as the fire danced out of control...

    Love Being

    Why do you
    exclude me?
    Am I valueless
    to you?
    Do you not see
    my wisdom?
    Is that why
    you fail to
    reflect it
    back to me?
    You cast me aside
    from the first.

    You rejected me because
    you feared me.
    You fear me still.

But only because you do not
    understand my beauty.
    You fear it will
    give me power
    over you,
so you try to crush it,
    to ignore it.

    And so you hurt me,
    and so you damage you.
    Your loss is my loss.

    We loose and
    the balance and harmony
    is lost.
    All of creation
    suffers because
    my creativity
    is denied by half.

    How much longer?

    The West Wind

her gaze is like a tidal wave
it brings to shore the love I crave
her black hair flows across the night
    obscuring darkness from my sight
her eyes pierce through the heat of dawn
she sings a soft and gentle song
will I ever feel her warm embrace
that delivers me to earthly grace...

    Who I Am

I am not my hair, my eyes, my nose or my mouth.
I am not my skin or the shape of any of my body parts.
I am not the IQ of my brain.

I am not the sound of my voice or the volume of my laughter.
I am not my strengths or any of my weaknesses.
I am not the level of my skills.

The temple of my physical makeup is a culmination of genetics.
It reveals nothing about the person who resides within.
I take no credit or point no blame for the way I look.
My temple is perfect, as is.

This body is not who I am.
It is an exquisitely perfect dwelling for my soul.
Everything about it is exactly as it should be.
No other, anywhere, ever, could serve my soul as well.

I am not anything you can see with your eyes
or touch with your hands. Should you judge me
by that criteria, you will never know me.

I am not a dumping ground for bias that's based
on a man-made standard, and I do not accept the
    prejudice it creates.

I am a union of body, mind and spirit, a trio, not a solo.

To know me, is to know yourself.

Those who hear the voice of their soul, recognize the song
in mine. They do not stop at the front door and judge me
by the dwelling in which I reside. With a humble sense of
honor, they knock upon the door and ask to come in.

The judgment of others does not change who I am.
Quite the opposite is true. It reveals who they are.

Those who deem me unworthy at a glance and pass me on by,
have my blessing to keep walking, for they have a long way to
go. They have not reached the point in their journey where
they are able to see and appreciate me for who I am.

    I will accept no less.

    Thank you Grandfather
For Eyes to see the wonder of your planet,
Ears To hear the sounds of the forest and the animals,
A nose to smell the wonders of your world
Hands to touch the things I love
Feet to carry me to new and beautiful places
A mind to learn and to question,
A mouth to taste all that is creation,
A heart to love, and feel others pain,
The senses that canot be named to feel you and see you in all your Wonder.
The ability to know when things are good and right,
the sense to know when things are wrong and bad,
Thank you for music, the beat of the drum pounding into my soul, the flute carrying my prayers to you.
    Most of all,
Thank you for those I love and who love me, they are your greatest gift.
The other part of my soul is searching for me as I do her,
we can only hope we find one another and have the gift to recognize it.
    Thank you for life.

    The West Wind

my beautiful angel stands 6 feet tall
broadcasting her words to the ears of us all
vibrating the atoms aloft on the air
both men and women turn eyeballs to stare
she drifts by as lightly as dew in the morn
past lonely eyes of sad and forlorn
my angel is searching for one who can see
but it seems she's unable to ever see me...

    The West Wind

feigning your lines through the thread of a curtain
you duck behind shadows to show
the life that you lead is not quite what is seems
the lyrics of which we're uncertain
as the scenery unfolds, to the audience holds
    your acting remains superfluous
the prop committee, and the dressing room team
enter their pleas for your mercy
but no one has told them the scene of your plight
as the acts of your play are mere hearsay...

    you are me
    and I am you
to live apart, we are but two
we run alone, under the sun
but in our souls, we run as one...

    The West Wind

of the people I have known
some believed their fates were sewn
    staring up at blinking stars
    viewing them like passing cars
    drifting through the lifeless seas
of love and hate and destinies
    averting gazes from the light
    wandering slowly through the night...

    The West Wind

sometimes love will rain like mist
as leather soles the pavement gives a kiss
    drifting through the badland's might
basking in the glow of fright
the sea of souls gaze from above
    at wayfarers deprived of love
the nocturnality will mask the mite
that drifts the highway of the night...

    The West Wind

who is he who gazes on the form
of river trails that stretch for morn'
he searches for a soul that's lost
    but always underestimates the cost
you cannot tell of whom you'll meet
    while wandering lonely, dusty streets
but fate directs its mighty wind
and in the end, begins again
when through the trees its breath will flow
    it rends a terrifying blow
bending to the will it saw
the lonely heart will never thaw...

    The West Wind

    wandering through the darkening forest
    searching for the springly chorus
leaves will fall and turn to dew
    sprouting into life anew
    the trees will open canopy
raining light for all to see
    the glow of otherworldly chorus
    searching for my earthly Chloris...

    The West Wind

    gazing from the sky above
    radiating angel love
her words drift gently on the air
as earthly creatures stop and stare
    illuminating empty pages
her love spreads out across the ages
    wisdom fills a lonely room
    through gentle words from angel-moon...
