    Here's the 2008 Meteor Shower timeline:

    Jan. 3rd: Quadrantids
    Apr. 21st: Lyrids
    May 4-6th: Eta Aquarids*
    Jul. 28th: South Delta Aquarids*
    Aug. 12th: Perseids*
    Oct. 7-8th: Draconids
    Oct. 20-21st: Orionids
    Nov. 4-5th: South Taurids
    Nov. 17th: Leonids
    Dec. 13th: Geminids

    *These showers are predicted to be especially good this year

    I can post more info on each shower, such as where to look in the sky and what times to go outside, if anyone would like that information.

    I'd LOVE you to Zeph! I always feel a little lost when it comes to thee things.
    Living in a city, I'm not sure how lucky I'll be in seeing them, but at least if I know where to look I'll have a better chance! :o)

    Ok, the next meteor shower is the Lyrids, on April 21st. Here's some info to help you spot them better: (times are EST)

    The radiant of the meteor shower is located in the constellation Lyra. This constellation rises in the northeast at around 10pm. The peak will probably occur around 3am on the morning of the 22nd.

    The rates for the Lyrids are normally 10-20 meteors per hour, though on rare occasions can reach 100 per hour. Unfortunately, the moon will be one day past full this year, making observing more difficult.

    DANGIT!! i missed the next one on May 4-6th. STILL no reminder?

    OK, FINE. I will have to give myself a reminder on July 28th for the next one...

    :p really just kidding, its my own dang fault. In fact, someone probably did say its april 21st and I just forgot about it. LIFE TOO BUSY. must do something about that...
