Denying the natural evolution of this website and the nature of the exchange is failing to see it at all. The beauty of this place is that it was never anything to begin with. It began as an abstract, and it remains an abstract. It never arrived at becoming anything in particular because it is ALWAYS in a state of BECOMING, it is a reflection of NOW. The site always remains in a state of evolution. This is the POINT! It is a digital reflection of local consciousness, it is not fixed until you look at it or you post. If YOU name it, YOU own it. Assuming that you know the intention of another user is a ridiculous undertaking here. Fragmentation and disjointed occurrences between some users should be encouraged if they arise naturally out of exchange, not an imposed false harmony, the product of moderation, a soft means of saying: Censorship.

Restraint and avoidance of extremes? Dissenting points of view will be imposed with limits? No thank you. No shore to leave, no shore to arrive upon. This is a vehicle for transformation. To suppress any expression might be to stifle someone's growth, and how are any of us wise enough to understand where the growth is and where it is not in any specific exchange between users? Opportunity in emerging creative potentials can arise out of destruction, and the virtual Global Conscious wheel spins on. Becoming, adapting, dancing in the space where disintegration and creation are simultaneous, we are removing obstacles of our creation and our clinging in this abstract space without attachment to an expectation of outcome, precisely because of its open, uncensored format. To encourage the creative and destructive expression and study its ebb and flow instead of its suppression is to come further into awareness, and it is honorable to have this space to do this practice safely. To collectively cling to what it was at one point in time or another is a reflection of collective illness, and shackles progress -NO thank you. Let it evolve, of course, what else is there. Leave the best of yourself or the very worst of yourself. What difference does it make? The spool keeps spinning. The prayers are released indefinitely. EVERY BREATH is a prayer, no matter our differences of opinion or path. The wind crosses the prayer flags here. Let the wind BLOW as it may, as it has here and see what happens. Let the searing heat burn through if it must, as this is a natural occurrence and encouraging its suppression would change the entire nature of the site The boundaries are the limits of matter and the limits of the mind's expression. Censor ONE and where does it end? I hesitate to imagine a user censoring themselves for fear of being censored by the site. How much after that would remain HONEST? No thank you. To allow an abstract space called, "Global Conscious" to fall into a format of the silenced and judged versus the manners, tastes, and bias of the reigning oligarch? No thank you. When the Sequoia's nearly indestructible seed pod falls to the ground, if it does not crack from the fall, it will usually remain there until the heat of a forest FIRE opens the seed pod. The seed has a chance to meet the soil and become a full grown Sequoia, with the potential to live for a thousand years. This incredible example, this product of evolution's equations in action, realized because of a fire or a hard fall is a reflection of the potential for evolution in all of us. If it is an encounter with a fiery nature, or a teacher's sandal smacked atop the head of another that opens the shell of ego, then why prevent this opportunity for growth and evolution for all parties involved? We fight the battles here within ourselves BECAUSE no one is in charge and everything goes, uncensored. All possibilities remain available and the reflection remains pure. If this space gets censored, if the free speech format is lost to sensitivity, distastes, and trends in snobbish mannerisms, then it will be lost to no less than being a reflection of the furthest despotic margins of civilization.

Hey there, I got this info from B.C.:

>>>>>>>
Many thanks for the help in getting connected to GC once again.
As far as I can tell some people may have difficulty connecting to GC because of their router settings.
The following Router settings may help in resolving the connection issues:

TCP MSS option = 0
MTU option = 1431

If these settings are not used MS Hotmail does not work either.
Hope this may be of assistance to you and others.

Once again many thanks and kind regards.

Private Messages are now paged so you have access to all your PMs not just the recent ones
There is now a user and message search box on the main page
There is a help document in the help Forum that describes:

YOU WERE RIGHT ZEPH!!!! note to Brad and zeph, and anyone else having problems on gc using firefox:

ALL my problems with private messages and with clicking through to follow people were SOLVED by upgrading my firefox to version 2.

One thing that happened that was weird was that when I went to the link above from zeph,
(http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/)
is when i go to that address and then click "download free", it actually just freezes and doesnt download anything, but if I go to "more languages" or something like that, and choose english, under the column for windows, it works just fine to download. I dont know why that is, but this is for anyone who is also having problems with firefox.

thanks so much brad and zeph!

The recent demise of Anonymous seems to have had quite an impact on GC.
Reluctant as I am to say it, Anonymous lent quite a bit of colour and shading to our little community, and without her, as I see it, GC is tending toward the flat. (Or possibly, this is just on of GC's many phases, but I'm ignoring that possibility for the purposes of this discussion.)

So we have three choices I think.

1. We, the named, raise our game and introduce a little more variety in our posting (content and style). We need to use GC as a canvas for the verbal and linguistic expression of our whole consciousness, without worrying that we are offending each other by not constantly attending to the 'niceties' of life - the 'hello's and 'how are you's.

2. We (and by we I mean Brad) re-instate Anonymous as a legitimate voice of the Global Consciousness, for better or for worse.

3. Both of the above.

Personally, I'm leaning toward option 3, though option 1 has it's attractions. Option 2 seems like a step backwards to me. Without employing option 1 I think we do ourselves a disservice.

So, what does everyone else think???
